Doron Shpilman Appointed First Spokesperson for National Information Directorate Amid Controversy
The Prime Minister's Office tender committee has appointed Doron Shpilman, 53, as the inaugural spokesperson for the newly established National Information Directorate. Shpilman previously served as the IDF spokesperson for foreign media at the rank of lieutenant colonel during wartime. Several candidates who competed for the position alleged the appointment was predetermined and tailored for Shpilman. They reported that interviews began late in the morning and by 1:55 p.m., rejection messages had already been sent to unsuccessful applicants. Furthermore, about half of the candidates withdrew their applications in protest, citing a lack of trust in the selection process. The Prime Minister's Office rejected these claims, denying any predetermined decision regarding the appointment.
