Point Guard Nick Weiler-Babb Joins Villeurbanne for 2026/27 Season

Villeurbanne is set to enter the 2026/2027 basketball season with a strengthened roster after signing American point guard Nick Weiler-Babb. The move follows the club's recent acquisition of Silvère Francisco and is part of a rebuilding effort led by Tony Parker. Weiler-Babb, who played last season with Anadolu Efes, averaged 7.7 points, 4.8 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per EuroLeague game, though the team underperformed overall. Prior to that, he had a standout tenure with Bayern Munich, earning EuroLeague Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2024/2025, which facilitated his transfer to the Turkish club. He has now committed to Villeurbanne on a two-year contract.

Villeurbanne's next significant signings are expected to include center Daniel Theis from Monaco and guard Armoni Brooks from Milan. Meanwhile, Valencia announced that Cameron Taylor extended his contract through 2028, reportedly the most lucrative in the club's history, though financial details were not disclosed. Taylor, who joined Valencia last summer after two successful seasons with Malaga, averaged 11.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2 assists per EuroLeague game last season.
