Maccabi Tel Aviv Wins 1-0 Against Alashkert in First Preseason Friendly
Maccabi Tel Aviv secured a 1-0 victory over Armenian club Alashkert in their first preseason friendly match for the 2026/27 season on June 30. The winning goal was scored by captain Dor Peretz in the 71st minute, following an assist from Shahar Rozen. Peretz, who recently signed a new contract with Maccabi after finishing last season as the Israeli Premier League's top scorer, capitalized on a pass from teammate Ilai Ben Simon to score from about 10 meters out.
The match saw Maccabi dominate from start to finish, creating numerous chances while Alashkert threatened only once late in the first half. Maccabi coach Kenny Miller made nine substitutions at halftime, which eventually led to the decisive goal. The starting lineup included players such as Ofek Malika, Shagiv Yehezkel, and Anis Porat Ayash, with many replaced in the second half.
Maccabi Tel Aviv will continue their training camp in Serbia until July 7, playing additional friendly matches before returning to Israel to prepare for their official season opener against reigning champions Hapoel Be'er Sheva in the Super Cup on July 16. Following that, they will enter the UEFA Europa League qualifiers, beginning the second round on July 23 against the winner of the tie between Sheriff Tiraspol (Moldova) and Aluminij (Slovenia).
