Azerbaijani Winger Rufat Abdulazade Joins Israeli Club Ironi Kiryat Shmona
Ironi Kiryat Shmona, a football club in northern Israel, announced on June 30, 2026, the signing of 25-year-old Azerbaijani winger Rufat Abdulazade until the end of the season. Abdulazade, who plays on the right wing, will join the team after arriving in Israel, completing medical tests, and signing officially at the club's offices. He is expected to strengthen the club's attacking line under coach Shai Berada.
Abdulazade had a breakthrough season in 2024/2025 with Səbail FK in the Azerbaijan Premier League, scoring eight goals and providing six assists. Last year, he was signed by Croatian top-tier club Varaždin and was loaned back to the Azerbaijani league in January. Additionally, he has represented Azerbaijan at various national team levels.
