Israel Railways Opens Memorial Synagogue for Fallen Soldier Noa Marziano at Modi'in Station

Israel Railways inaugurated a new synagogue at Modi'in Central Station in memory of Noa Marziano, a soldier who was kidnapped and killed by Hamas nearly three years ago. This marks the first time a synagogue has been established within an Israeli train station. The dedication ceremony was attended by Noa's family, Israel Railways officials including Chairman Moshe Shimoni and Acting CEO Avner Flor, Modi'in Mayor Haim Bibas, the city rabbi, and other guests.

Noa Marziano, daughter of Israel Railways employee Avi Marziano, served as an observer at the Nahal Oz outpost. She was abducted during the October 7, 2023 terror attack and was murdered in captivity on November 14, 2023. During the ceremony, family members shared stories about Noa’s dedication and optimism, highlighting her habit of writing a "gratitude journal" which became a symbol of her values after her death.

Avi Marziano expressed that dedicating the synagogue in Noa’s name holds special meaning for the family, allowing her memory to live on through prayer and Torah study. Transportation Minister and former Brigadier General Miri Regev described the synagogue as a "house of memory, hope, and continuity," emphasizing Noa’s sacrifice while defending Israel. Ministry of Transportation Director Moshe Ben Zaken noted the synagogue reflects the spirit of mutual responsibility within the transportation community and will serve thousands of passengers and employees daily as a place of prayer and remembrance.

Chairman Moshe Shimoni, who supported the family since the October 7 attack, said the synagogue symbolizes continuity and that Noa’s name will be heard in every prayer there. The synagogue will serve commuters, station workers, and local residents, ensuring Noa Marziano’s legacy remains a daily presence at Modi'in station.
