Ben El Tavori Demands Control Over Shared YouTube Channel From Former Managers and Static

Ben El Tavori, formerly part of the popular Israeli pop duo Static & Ben El, has reignited a dispute over one of their key shared assets, the duo's YouTube channel. The pair split about four years ago, and since then, each pursued solo careers. Recently, Tavori sent a formal demand through his lawyers, Michael Ayalon and Noga Haruvi, to his former managers Oron Kalphon and Yoav Gross of Gaga Booking. He insists on gaining free access to the YouTube channel or demands that no new content be uploaded without his consent.

According to the letter, before their collaboration, both artists had small individual YouTube channels. In late 2015, after teaming up, Static's channel was converted into their joint channel and renamed accordingly. After the duo's breakup, the channel remained under Static and Gaga Booking's control, who continued managing it as Static pursued his solo career. Tavori's lawyers claim he has no direct access and must request permission from Gaga's team to upload new music, while Static freely uploads content.

The channel currently has about 1.08 million subscribers, with videos garnering hundreds of thousands of views, making it a significant revenue source. Tavori tolerated the situation for flexibility and to avoid conflict but now demands his rights be recognized, criticizing Gaga Booking's "draconian" control and alleging it harms his professional interests. He has launched his own YouTube channel but maintains this does not diminish his rights to the shared channel.

Tavori's legal team proposes that all parties jointly decide on new content uploads to preserve the channel as a historic digital asset generating income. Alternatively, if Static wishes to continue using the shared channel, clear operational terms should be established. Gaga Booking and Static have not responded to the demand, while Tavori's team expressed support for his new solo path and invited fans to his new channel.
