Thailand Warns of Severe Weather with Heavy Rain and High Waves Until July 3
Thai authorities have issued a severe weather warning for heavy rainfall expected across large parts of the country from June 29 through July 3. The Meteorological Department attributes the extreme conditions to a monsoon trough moving over northern and northeastern Thailand combined with the strengthening southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea. Alongside heavy rains, strong winds and waves up to three meters high are forecast, particularly affecting the Andaman Sea region.
Local governments in Bangkok and other areas have urged residents to follow official guidelines and plan travel carefully. Maritime warnings have been issued advising ships and boats to remain in port, especially small vessels in the northern Andaman Sea, to avoid dangerous thunderstorms and rough seas during this period.
The public is encouraged to stay updated on weather developments and adhere strictly to safety instructions to mitigate risks posed by the extreme weather conditions.
