Israeli Businessman Facilitates Barcelona-Saudi Investment Talks in Football

The Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is currently engaged in negotiations with FC Barcelona. These talks focus on potential sponsorship deals, investments in Barcelona's renowned youth academy La Masia, and the establishment of football academies in Saudi Arabia. The initiative aims to develop a generation of professional players ahead of the 2034 FIFA World Cup, which Saudi Arabia will host.

An Israeli-British businessman, Said Sarsur, residing in London, is managing these discussions. His advisor, Ihab Edna Sarsur, explained that Saudi Arabia seeks to position itself at the forefront of global sports, especially football. He emphasized football's role as a universal language and a bridge between nations. The advisory team works with leading clubs across England, Spain, and Italy, though confidentiality agreements limit further disclosure.
