Manor Solomon, the 26-year-old captain of the Israeli national football team, is making his first business move off the pitch by investing in the local culinary scene. Solomon has become a partner in the popular Spanish tapas bar and restaurant ESO, located on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv. This marks a new direction for the winger, whose professional future in Europe is still uncertain between Tottenham Hotspur and Fiorentina.

Solomon joined forces with longtime friends and co-founders Or Assoulin, Nadav Morah, and Yonatan Ben Yehuda, who opened ESO in September 2025 alongside chef Lior Cohen. Reports estimate Solomon’s investment at several hundred thousand shekels. ESO quickly gained recognition as a vibrant spot revitalizing Dizengoff Street, offering a Spanish tapas experience inspired by Barcelona’s small side bars but infused with a distinct Mediterranean and Israeli flair.

Chef Lior Cohen, 28, brings experience from renowned culinary venues such as Cafe Popular, Norda, and under Eran Shroitman. His menu focuses on shareable dishes served in a relaxed atmosphere at accessible prices, encouraging diners to sample a variety of flavors. Solomon’s involvement not only strengthens the restaurant’s financial backing but also boosts its profile, attracting both football fans and food enthusiasts. ESO now offers patrons the chance to enjoy excellent sangria and croquettes, with the occasional opportunity to meet Israel’s national team captain for a chat about football.
