Aboubakar Barry Transfers from Austria Vienna to Red Bull Salzburg for 3 Million Euros
Aboubakar Barry, a former player in Israel's top football league and currently with Austria Vienna, has completed a significant transfer to the Austrian powerhouse Red Bull Salzburg. Barry, who spent six seasons playing in Israel for various clubs including Hapoel Nof HaGalil, Hapoel Kfar Shalem, Hapoel Ramat Sharon, Hapoel Kfar Saba, and Bnei Yehuda, initially developed in Maccabi Haifa's youth system.
In the past two years, Barry impressed at Austria Vienna, leading to this major move. Red Bull Salzburg agreed to pay Austria Vienna 3 million euros for Barry, with potential increases based on team and individual performance bonuses. Barry was reportedly very eager to make the move. Other clubs such as Oxford United and Stoke City also showed interest, but Barry ultimately chose Salzburg.
During the current season, Barry made 28 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga, scoring four goals and providing four assists. He was also named in the league's team of the week three times, highlighting his strong performance and reputation as an excellent player in the league.
