Firefighters Gain Control Over Blaze Near Sal'it Settlement in West Bank

After several hours of intense firefighting, Israeli fire and rescue teams have gained control over a wildfire that broke out near the Sal'it settlement in the West Bank. The fire started around midday in open terrain close to the settlement and spread rapidly due to strong winds. Initial reports indicated a broad fire front moving toward Sal'it, prompting a large-scale response including units from the Judea and Samaria and Central districts, volunteer teams, and aerial firefighting support from the Elad squadron.

Authorities feared the fire might reach residential areas at the edge of Sal'it, leading to the evacuation of some residents in coordination with the Israel Police. Other residents were instructed to remain indoors due to thick smoke engulfing the area. By 19:40, fire officials confirmed that control over the blaze had been achieved. Firefighters continue to operate on-site to complete extinguishing efforts and ensure the safety of the settlement and surrounding areas.
