Yotam Zemeri blasts Ilana Dayan over unequal right to protest
In a segment on Channel 14's "The Patriots," panelist Yotam Zemeri sharply attacked journalist Ilana Dayan after she said that protesters in Kaplan were allowed to demonstrate against the government, while Haredim who "draw money from the state" were not. The exchange aired about two minutes before the article was published.
Zemeri called Dayan's remarks "substandard" and said they reflected an attempt to say, "We are allowed, and you are not." He added that at least she was admitting it, saying she was speaking "from the right side" and exposing a discriminatory approach.
He went on to describe the attitude behind the comment as one in which there are "good people, bad people, correct and incorrect people," and said, "There are the holy and there is gold, and I am from the right part." Zemeri also mocked Dayan's program, "Uvda," saying it was as if a show were called "The State People."
