Italian media reported that Inter Milan have been working to find a replacement for Denzel Dumfries, who is said to already be set for Real Madrid, even though no official announcement has been made. Inter initially wanted Marco Palestra from Atalanta, but he signed for Chelsea, leaving the club still searching for a wing player who can operate on both sides of the pitch.
According to a report in Gazzetta, one of the names proposed to Inter was Anan Khalaili, who has also been on Napoli’s radar. The report said that in recent weeks it was mainly Khalaili’s representatives who approached Inter about a potential move, rather than the club actively pursuing him on its own.
The same report stressed that even if Khalaili were to join, he would likely not be the marquee signing, and another more established player would arrive alongside him. It compared that scenario to Dan Ndoye of Nottingham Forest and Dodo of Fiorentina, two players who were considered but about whom Inter did not intend to make a decisive move.
Other names mentioned as possible arrivals were Diaby from Al Ittihad, formerly of Aston Villa, and Michael Kayode from Brentford. The report also said Inter had initially considered bringing back Joao Cancelo, but that option has since been dropped.
