Israel’s security establishment is preparing to intensify operations against terror groups in Judea and Samaria over the coming months, including through the Jewish holiday period, according to a first report aired Wednesday on Channel 14. The effort is expected to focus on the West Bank as part of a broader campaign against terror infrastructure.
As part of the planned buildup, the Paratroopers Brigade will be deployed to the area alongside the Nahal Brigade and the Home Front Command brigade. That reinforcement will bring the force level operating in the sector to about 26 battalions.
The move follows remarks earlier in the day by Defense Minister Israel Katz about expanding activity in terror camps. Security officials are now preparing to extend the operations carried out in the terror camps of northern Samaria to additional camps in the coming months, subject to political leadership decisions.
The report said the goal is to disrupt terror infrastructure, as violence in Judea and Samaria remains a major threat. C14’s tally of terror incidents for its “Daily Terror” project said there were three attacks today, 22 in the past week, and 97 in the past month, figures cited to underscore the need for stronger action to protect Israeli civilians.
