At the central Kretschnif Hasidic courtyard in Jerusalem, a bar mitzvah celebration was held for the grandson of the Kretschnif Rebbe of Jerusalem, Rabbi Chaim Rosenbaum, during the yahrzeit observance for Rabbi Meir of Kretschnif. The boy is the son of Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech Stern, head of the Kretschnif yeshiva "Mivtzar HaTorah," and the grandson of Rabbi Yehoshua Menachem Stern, chief rabbinical judge of Rachamstrivka Bnei Brak.
The festive gathering took place in the main study hall and was combined with a seudat hilula marking the anniversary of Rabbi Meir of Kretschnif, zt"l. A distinguished group of rebbes and rabbis attended, along with a large crowd of Hasidim.
In another Hasidic event in Jerusalem, a great-grandson of the Munkacs Belz Rebbe was brought into the Munkacs Belz kindergarten in Jerusalem. The boy is a grandson of Rabbi Aaron Rokeach, who serves as the community rabbi in Jerusalem and is the son-in-law of the Ra'atzfart chief judge, and also the son of Rabbi Yoel Rokeach, son-in-law of Rabbi Moshe Yehuda Nechemia Halberstam and grandson-in-law of Chief Rabbi G.A. Shapira of Pardes Katz.
At the end of that ceremony, the Rebbe distributed blue pekkalach to the children. The article also notes that during a visit to the United States, the Vizhnitz London Rebbe was hospitalized in Manhattan and underwent another medical procedure to improve his condition, a similar procedure last year having been described as successful. The public was asked to pray for his complete recovery.
