The Jerusalem District Court has set an unusually intensive schedule for the Netanyahu trial, ordering it to move to five hearing days a week, Sunday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., starting after the Tishrei holidays on October 4, 2026. The case involves Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the other defendants in the so-called “cases of thousands.”
The three-judge panel, Rivka Friedman-Feldman, Moshe Bar-Am and Oded Shaham, said the trial would shift into high gear and warned the defense to prepare accordingly. “The defense must be ready to bring witnesses on every hearing day, and arrange backup witnesses in case a summoned witness cannot come, so that hearing days will not be canceled,” the judges said.
The court also renewed its suggestion that both sides’ lawyers hold hearings during the upcoming court recess. Before that, the trial will return to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv once Netanyahu finishes testifying. From Sunday, June 28, 2026, the proceedings will be held entirely at the Jerusalem District Court.
A special hearing under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Law is scheduled for Monday, June 29, 2026. That session will focus on the defense witness list Netanyahu intends to call for each count in the indictment.
