Matan Levi, a reserve soldier who was called on the morning of October 7 to deploy to the Gaza border area, was severely wounded by a mortar barrage, lost his sight, and later married under the chuppah. The emotional ceremony was accompanied by singer Amir Benayoun, who performed the song “Nitzachta Iti Hakol” (“You Won Everything With Me”), the same song he had dedicated to Levi when Levi was in a coma after the injury.
Levi spent two weeks in intensive care at Soroka Medical Center in critical condition, and Benayoun visited him there during that period. In a video shared on Wednesday, Benayoun sang the same song again as Levi walked toward the wedding canopy, creating what the article described as a deeply moving full-circle moment.
In the video, Benayoun congratulated the newlyweds, saying, “Mazel tov to you, Tzori and Matan, dear ones.” Social media users responded enthusiastically, praising the singer’s gesture and expressing emotion over the scene.
Levi also shared the video and quoted part of the song in a message to his new wife: “Mazel that God sent you, you won everything with me and we will continue to win everything.” The article notes that after two weeks in a coma, Levi woke to extreme pain, was hospitalized for nine months in total, and underwent treatment and rehabilitation at Sheba Medical Center. He previously said the pain was so severe that “they really scared me,” and described the recovery and adjustment to his new life as feeling like a rebirth.
