The Rishon LeZion Magistrate’s Court yesterday sentenced a police officer from the Ramla station to eight months in prison for assault causing actual bodily harm. He was convicted after beating his partner in their home about two and a half years ago.
According to the indictment, the officer, who served as a police prosecutor in court, returned home on the day of the incident and found a utility cabinet placed outside the front door with one of its legs broken. He became angry, approached his wife, and attacked her.
The assault took place while she was lying on the sofa near their two minor daughters. The court imposed the custodial sentence after finding him guilty of the offense.
