Singer Moses Koursia, who recently drew attention after describing a humiliating experience while looking for an apartment in Tel Aviv, appeared Tuesday night on the program "Moriah and Berko." Even before going on air, he told followers he was worried, writing, "I have not yet met a guest who came out looking good," and later posted a photo of his equipment with a verse from the prayer opening, "May the Lord open my lips, and my mouth shall declare Your praise."
During the interview with hosts Moriah Asraf and Eyal Berkowitz, the conversation turned tense as Koursia recounted what happened. The hosts appeared to downplay the incident. At one point Berkowitz said, "So he told you there is no Shabbat elevator, let's move on," while Koursia replied that the issue was not technical but that he had not been told in advance the apartment owner knew he kept a religious lifestyle. Berkowitz also asked bluntly, "I did not understand the item, maybe explain it to me? Which floor was the apartment you wanted?" and then joked, "If you want, I might even give up my apartment, it has a direct elevator to the apartment. Moses, make good songs, trust me."
After the broadcast, Koursia shared many reactions from viewers who criticized the hosts. Some wrote that it was a "bad interview" and accused the hosts of mocking him, while others focused criticism on Berkowitz, saying they were upset by his lack of sensitivity and urging Koursia not to appear with him again.
Koursia agreed with the criticism and said the experience was a lesson for him. "This is a reminder for me to listen to you next time. It will not happen again, you are always right," he wrote. He ended on a conciliatory note, saying, "I am not the story, the story is always us. If we do not learn to respect each other, there will be no future here."
