Base44 has launched a new feature that lets its Superagent AI join WhatsApp groups and handle tasks for the whole group, not just in private chats. The company says the tool can manage family shopping lists, send reminders, summarize overnight World Cup matches, coordinate schedules, and even reply with voice messages.
Mandy Adry, Base44’s development manager, said the goal is to bring AI into the place where many people already organize daily life. “Life today runs on WhatsApp, at work and at home,” he told mako. He said the agent understands the group context, knows the participants, and can act on behalf of several people at once instead of forcing users into another app.
The system can connect to email, calendars, documents and other services, read text and voice messages, and respond in either format. Base44 gave examples including a group of friends using it for match summaries and betting tables, or a parent who uses it each morning to check a kindergarten website and add reminders to the calendar. The company also says the agent can learn new “Skills” on its own, such as integrating with Ontopo to book restaurant tables after being taught the process.
There are still limits: the agent only works inside groups where it has been added, it cannot access outside groups, and WhatsApp groups using it are currently capped at eight participants. Base44 says some restrictions stem from Meta’s platform access rules. The product supports several AI models and languages, including Hebrew, and since launching in early April it has drawn thousands of users, with the U.S. its biggest market and Israel among the leading ones. Pricing starts at about $20 a month for individuals, with family and business plans available. Base44 is now developing the next version, with stronger voice features, more agent-to-agent collaboration, and deeper external integrations.
