Likud MK Tally Gotliv said on Tuesday night that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu personally backed her during a break in a court hearing, telling her to “ignore the background noise” and “continue to be exactly who and what she is.” She posted the message on X and attached a photo of herself with Netanyahu, rejecting reports of tension between them.
Gotliv attacked what she called “fake spins” about her relationship with the prime minister, including claims that he was “panicking” over the level of support she receives. She said those reports were “absurd” and had no basis, adding that the false rumors do not bother her.
In a second post, Gotliv said threats and smear attempts aimed at her ahead of the Likud primary do not concern her. She said voters know her work in the Knesset committee on her immunity issue and expect her to keep up her combative line, even if she gains executive powers.
Gotliv also argued that the Israeli public is smart and connected to its heritage, and that she serves as a rallying point for right-wing voters disappointed with Likud. She said that the higher she rises on the party list, the more people who have given up on voting Likud will follow her.
