Noam Shapira Appointed Head of the National Public Diplomacy Staff
National Public Diplomacy Chief Tzipi Hotovely announced on Tuesday that Noam Shapira has been chosen to serve as head of the National Public Diplomacy Staff, after a selection committee approved the appointment unanimously.
Shapira, 44, is a reserve lieutenant colonel, married and the father of five, and lives in Kibbutz Merav. He is a veteran of Sayeret Matkal and has held a range of management and command roles.
In recent years, Shapira has worked intensively on strengthening Israel's public diplomacy and public awareness efforts in different arenas. He has led multiple initiatives under the Operations Directorate, including international outreach, building strategic partnerships for Israel, and helping preserve the IDF's freedom of action during the war.
