Maccabi Petah Tikva said on Tuesday that it has reached an agreement to sign Ibrahima Soma, a 22-year-old midfielder from Guinea, as it builds for its return to the Israeli Premier League. Soma has signed for two years with an option for one more season.
Soma plays as a defensive midfielder. He began at the SOAR academy before moving to Moldova, where he played for Zimbru Chișinău and Sheriff Tiraspol. During that time, he also gained experience in European club qualifying matches.
In the coming days, Soma is expected to land in Israel, undergo medical tests, and join the team’s training sessions. Once the deal is completed, he will become Maccabi Petah Tikva’s fifth foreign player.
