Hapoel Beersheba and Maccabi Tel Aviv are preparing for a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday over the fight that broke out in the State Cup final, with both clubs hoping to reduce the punishments sought by the prosecutor. The hearing had been postponed three weeks ago by mutual agreement between the sides, and the case is now approaching its decisive stage.
According to the assessment in both camps, no plea deals are expected to be signed before the hearing begins. If any compromise emerges, it is likely to happen during the session itself. Each club has already reviewed all available video from every angle and believes the indictment does not match the footage, leaving both with substantial objections to the charges.
The clubs' main goal is to fully clear some players and officials, while softening the expected sanctions for others. In Beersheba's case, the prosecutor is seeking six matches suspended and six active matches for Parhud, five active and five suspended for Ahmed, five active and five suspended for East, five active and five suspended for Abu Rumi, and four active and four suspended for Kna'an.
For Maccabi Tel Aviv, the requested penalties are a six-month ban from stadiums for Yoav Zeev, eight active and eight suspended matches for Christian Blitz, eight active and eight suspended matches for Kerwin Andrade, five active and five suspended matches for Elad Madmon, and four active and four suspended matches for Tyrese Asante. The hearing is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, and the case centers on the aftermath of the cup final confrontation.
