Hapoel Beersheba and Maccabi Tel Aviv are heading into Wednesday's hearing over the brawl in the State Cup final, with both clubs expecting any plea bargains to emerge only during the session rather than beforehand. The hearing had been postponed three weeks ago by mutual agreement between the two sides, and the decisive stage is now close.
According to both clubs, they have already reviewed all available video from every angle and believe the indictment filed against players and staff does not match the filmed evidence. They intend to try to fully clear some of those charged, while seeking to reduce the expected punishment for others.
The prosecutor is seeking the following penalties for Beersheba players and staff: Parhud, six matches suspended and six conditional; Ahmed, five matches suspended and five conditional; East, five and five; Abu Rumi, five and five; and Knaan, four and four.
For Maccabi Tel Aviv, the prosecution is seeking a six-month ban from stadiums for Yoav Ziv, plus eight matches suspended and eight conditional for Kristian Blic and Karvin Andrade, and five matches suspended and five conditional for Elad Madmon, along with four matches suspended and four conditional for Tyrese Asante.
