Guy Pines surprised viewers during the elimination interview on his Channel 12 entertainment program by criticizing the judges on "Dancing with the Stars" after Shahar Hion and Matanal Konvesky were forced out of the competition because of her injury. Pines usually interviews the latest eliminated contestants at the end of each episode, but keeps his opinion to himself.
Hion and Konvesky had danced in front of the judges only once before their run ended. Their first performance drew criticism and earned them 26 points. In the elimination interview on "Good Evening with Guy Pines," Pines said he had watched the dance on television and was angry at the judges, adding, "It doesn't happen to me often that I get angry at the judges. I felt they didn't give you what you deserved for the dance, it was really good. I know it's surprising that I am saying this, but I am describing my experience as a viewer and not as a dance expert. You were really good, I was disappointed for you about the score."
The pair's exit came after Hion tore a muscle during rehearsals, just two days before she was scheduled to return to the floor for a second performance. Hion said the situation was difficult but that they were staying positive and believing it was for the best, while admitting that as highly competitive people, it was hard to leave a contest that had only just begun.
Konvesky said he felt he had bad luck on the dance floor, noting that this was the second straight season his partner had to withdraw because of injury, after Omer Nodelman left last season and Bar Zomer did so in the first season. Hion immediately defended him, saying, "I don't agree with you saying that. He is not bad luck, he is a world champion."
