Likud MK Tally Gotliv said she wants to demand the Justice Ministry when Israel’s next government is formed. In an interview with Channel 14, amid the party’s expected decision to hold open primaries for its slate, she said she intends to turn backing from party members into leverage for a senior cabinet role.
"If I indeed receive the public’s trust, I can demand and insist on the post of justice minister," Gotliv said. She framed the goal as part of a broader push for immediate and fundamental changes in Israel’s law-enforcement and legal system.
Gotliv sharply attacked senior legal officials and their conduct in Knesset hearings. Referring to recent discussions in the Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee, she said lawmakers had seen "what happens when you sit, how they behave, against a negligent legal junta that undermines us, persecutes us." She also made a controversial remark about how to "bring down" Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara "to her knees."
Pressed on other political figures’ ability to handle the situation, Gotliv declined to discuss their failures and stressed her own ideological line. "I want right-wing governance," she said, adding that it can exist only if the judiciary "knows its place."
