Israeli police from the Judea Unit raided the West Bank village of Samua on Sunday night and found two suspected stolen Mazda cars fitted with fake license plates. One car had been reported stolen from Ramat Gan in central Israel, and the other from Beersheba in the south. The raid was part of an ongoing operation against the stolen-car trade and fugitives hiding in Judea and Samaria.
During the operation, officers reached a house in the village where the two vehicles were parked. Checks showed both cars were stolen, and police seized them and transferred them to a police storage lot. A 32-year-old local resident was arrested and taken for questioning at the Hebron police station.
At the same time, officers were looking for another suspect wanted by the Beersheba station for domestic violence offenses. Family members warned him that the forces were approaching, and he fled through the back yard. Police initially left the area but monitored it from a distance. About half an hour later, they returned to the suspect's home in a different way and arrested him after he had come back inside. The 36-year-old suspect was taken in for further investigation.
