A loud explosion was heard overnight in Doha, Qatar, Reuters reported. Shortly afterward, Qatar’s Interior Ministry said the blast occurred at the Ras Laffan gas production facility in the northeast of the country.
The ministry said firefighters and rescue crews were working at the scene and that the incident was still under investigation. Authorities have not yet explained what caused the explosion.
According to the ministry, no one was hurt, and there is no concern about a gas leak or any release of hazardous materials. Officials said they continue to handle the incident and examine the circumstances surrounding it.
