Hapoel Petah Tikva has made a two-year offer to midfielder Ilay Almqayes, according to a first report published on June 21, 2026. The 26-year-old finished his contract with Maccabi Bnei Reineh after the club was relegated, and is now being pursued by the Petah Tikva side.
This season, Almqayes scored once in 32 appearances. He began the campaign with Ironi Tiberias before moving on. Across his time in the Israeli Premier League with Tiberias, Reineh and Bnei Sakhnin, he has two goals and one assist in 50 matches.
Almqayes developed in Hoffenheim's academy in Germany and was previously loaned to ADO Den Haag in the Netherlands. In Israel, he also played for Bnei Sakhnin. He has five caps for the senior Israel national team, including a goal against Slovakia in the UEFA Nations League.
