Israeli goalkeeper Omri Glazer, who has been linked in recent weeks with several major clubs in Israel, is reportedly set to join Red Star Belgrade’s preseason training camp for the coming season. Serbian reports say the 29-year-old is under contract until next summer and is not expected to rush into a move.
According to the report, Glazer should continue in the role he held this season as backup goalkeeper. It also noted that his salary is very high for a player in that position, which makes a transfer more complicated unless another club offers similar wages.
Glazer joined the Serbian champions to replace Milan Borjan and had a strong first season, becoming a regular starter and performing well, including in the Champions League under Barak Bakhar. At that stage, the sides extended their cooperation from the original three-year agreement to four seasons.
His situation changed in the 2024/25 season, when injuries hurt his form and he dropped in the pecking order, eventually becoming the second-choice goalkeeper. Sportklub wrote that his guaranteed salary means he has no reason to hurry to another club, unless he finds one that can match his earnings at Red Star. It added that if he wants to play regularly and “stand between the posts consistently,” he may have to accept a financial sacrifice.
