Reports in Serbia say Omri Glazer is not expected to rush into a move despite interest from several clubs in Israel. The Israeli goalkeeper, who is under contract with Red Star Belgrade until next summer, is due to join the club’s preseason training camp ahead of the new campaign.
According to the report, Glazer is likely to continue in the backup role he filled this season, even though his salary is described as very high for a player in that position. Sportklub said his salary is guaranteed, and he has no reason to hurry and change clubs unless he finds a team willing to pay him the same amount he earns at Red Star, something it called difficult.
The Serbian club’s stance comes after a mixed spell for Glazer. In his first season at the Serbian champions, when he arrived to replace Milan Borjan, he played regularly and performed well, including in the Champions League under Barak Bakhar. At that stage, the sides agreed to extend the partnership to four seasons instead of the three that were originally signed.
Since then, during the 2024/25 season, injuries hurt his form and he dropped in the pecking order. This season he has already become the second-choice goalkeeper, and the report says that if he wants to move to a club where he can play regularly, he may need to accept financial concessions.
