Police in Castle Rock, Colorado, shared surveillance video showing a bear scaling a barbed-wire fence and entering the station parking lot over the weekend. The footage captured the unusual visit at the police facility, where the animal briefly roamed the area before leaving.
In a social media post, the department joked that it was a “bear breach,” saying the bear climbed the fence “before conducting a short field check with its paws.” Police said the bear appeared to be looking for food.
According to the department, the bear moved on after finding no “picnic baskets, unattended snacks or other bear necessities” in the area. Officers said the encounter was brief but served as a reminder that wildlife sightings are a normal part of life in Castle Rock.
