Father Faces Indictment After 9-Year-Old Daughter Was Shot Dead in Ar'ara

Investigators from the Menashe district major crimes unit said on Sunday that they have finished probing the shooting death of 9-year-old Lila Jahaja in Ar'ara three weeks ago. Police say a serious indictment is expected against her father, Samed.

According to the police statement, there is evidence that someone, allegedly in an attempt to obstruct the investigation, tried to alter the scene and remove evidence in order to make it harder to determine what happened. Despite that, police said the case has been solved.

As part of the next legal step, prosecutors filed a statement of intent against the father on Sunday. The police did not provide further details on the circumstances of the shooting in their announcement.
