A couple from Israel says their vacation in Eilat turned into a nightmare after they arrived at a suite they booked at Nirvana Suites, part of the Astral Hotels chain. Stav and Hadar Hasson said they paid 4,375 shekels for four nights, but found a balcony overlooking pool beds and, more importantly, a room in poor condition.
In an interview with Niv Raskin on "News Morning," they said they only realized at night what the balcony looked like, and later discovered the bathroom was rusted and smelled of sewage. On the final morning, they said ants were crawling on them and the entire room was full of ants. "We woke up because ants were climbing on us," they said, adding that they were too shocked to film it.
The couple said they complained at the front desk on the first or second day, but were told the hotel was fully booked and nothing could be done. They also said they could not cancel because the reservation was nonrefundable. After they posted a video on social media, they said a front desk manager called and asked them to remove it, claiming their post was causing guests to cancel. They said they received no apology and no compensation.
Astral Hotels responded that it appreciated the complaint and would immediately address the defects. The company said Nirvana Suites has a high rate of repeat guests over the years, which it said reflects trust and satisfaction, and added that it remains committed to providing a pleasant, high-quality hospitality experience.
