MDA and Tzav HaTzalah responders were called on Saturday afternoon to Sderot HaAmoraim in the Ramat D neighborhood of Beit Shemesh after two children were reported injured. The incident happened when the children hit the curb while riding a bimba, a small child vehicle.
Tzav HaTzalah Sabbath-duty medics, Paramedic Nati Ben Shimon and medics Chanoch Revach and Benzi Tekhober, said they found the boys in different condition. Working alongside other MDA medics and paramedics, they provided first aid that included stopping bleeding, immobilization and bandaging.
An 8-year-old boy, described as suffering a significant head injury, was evacuated in moderate condition. A 6-year-old boy was taken away in mild condition. Both were transferred to an advanced life-support ambulance and then taken for further treatment in the trauma room at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
Separately, Tzav HaTzalah’s spokesperson asked volunteers and the public to pray for the recovery of Yosef Chaim Ben Yisrael’s son, who was resuscitated on Friday night, regained full consciousness by what the group described as divine mercy, but still needs continued prayers.
