Casemiro is reportedly set to join Inter Miami next season, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano. The move would put the former Real Madrid midfielder alongside Lionel Messi, after Messi has increasingly reunited with former Barcelona teammates in Miami.
Inter Miami’s recent roster has already included Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez. Alba and Busquets have since retired, while Suarez remains with the club. Casemiro would now be a surprising addition from Real Madrid’s side of the rivalry, having spent nearly a decade at the Spanish club.
Romano said Casemiro has reached an agreement on his terms with the American club and added that “Casemiro very much wants to play with Messi.” The 34-year-old Brazilian is coming off a strong Premier League season with Manchester United, where he set personal-best numbers.
He scored 9 league goals and added 2 assists, helping Manchester United return to the Champions League. The report does not say when the transfer will be officially announced or finalized.
