Tomer Cohen Appointed CEO of Tel Aviv Cinematheque
Tomer Cohen has been selected as CEO of the Tel Aviv Cinematheque, after serving for a decade as CEO of the Ganei Yehoshua Center. Cohen was chosen unanimously by the executive committee and will replace Dina Feld, who was recently appointed CEO of the Tel Aviv Culture Hall after completing a decade-long tenure at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque. Cohen previously served as director of the Beit Ariela Culture Center and as deputy CEO of Beit Zvi and the Library Theater. He has also managed, initiated and produced many festivals and various projects. Over the past decade, he served as CEO of the Ganei Yehoshua Center, which hosts cultural events, conferences and other events. The center serves as a music center and produces festivals, theater performances, literary events and more.
"I am happy and excited to join the excellent team of the Tel Aviv Cinematheque, and I am grateful for the opportunity given to me to continue the glorious tradition of the Cinematheque. I thank the executive committee for its choice and trust, and Dina for her many years of work, friendship and support," Cohen said. Feld said, "The Tel Aviv Cinematheque is much more than a cultural institution, it is a home for creation and dialogue. Over the past decade we have achieved many accomplishments for the Cinematheque, and it has expressed growth, renewal and significant cultural activity."
Roni Haimovsky, chairman of the Tel Aviv Cinematheque, said, "Tomer brings to the role rich and long-standing experience that will enable him to lead the Tel Aviv Cinematheque to many more achievements in the years ahead."
