Fenerbahce, coached by Sarunas Jasikevicius, won the Turkish league championship on Saturday night after a wild game against Besiktas, and is now turning to next season with an eye on reclaiming the EuroLeague crown. The club has already reached an agreement with Marcus Bingham, who is set to join the rotation, and Marcus Reed, the Turkish league MVP, has also been mentioned as a target.
There are also players the club would like to keep. Bogdan Bogdanovic is wanted by some around the team, but he is expected to stay in the NBA for another year. Wade Baldwin, Tyler Horton-Tucker and Tarik Biberovic are expected to lead the team next season, with Biberovic having turned down a massive offer from U.S. colleges. Jasikevicius is under contract through 2029 and will continue.
The biggest departure so far is Devon Hall, who averaged 8.3 points per game in the EuroLeague this season and announced he will not return, with a move to Milan expected. Club legend Nando De Colo will retire at age 39. The club’s sporting director has spoken about a roster overhaul after the disappointing Final Four semifinal loss to Olympiacos, so more major arrivals may follow.
Bonzie Colson, who had a major role this season, has been linked both to Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he reportedly held advanced talks, and to Olympiacos. For now, it is still unclear whether Fenerbahce will let him leave, especially since his deal includes an extension option. Arturs Zagars and Armando Bacot are also expected to depart, while Nicolo Melli, whose contract is expiring, said after the series, "It is a pleasure to be part of this family," and is currently expected to stay.
