ZTARX has introduced an inflatable lighting solution designed for campers, field users and reservists, with the aim of solving a familiar problem in the outdoors, how to get reliable light when there is no nearby power source. The product combines a built-in solar panel for charging from sunlight with a USB port that can be powered from mains electricity, a vehicle, or a portable battery.
The system runs on 5V/2A and uses only 8W. In some versions, it can operate for up to 75 minutes on a single charge. The company says the device is meant to make conventional flashlights and external power sources less necessary in field conditions.
What sets it apart is its inflatable tube-style body rather than a rigid lamp or bulky floodlight. The lighting tube is made from waterproof TPU, so it can be used in rain and other harsh outdoor conditions. Despite its larger appearance, it weighs just 128 grams.
The lamp can produce up to 500 lumens. It also includes strong N52 magnets, allowing it to attach to a vehicle or other metal surface and quickly turn a dark area into a lit work station.
