After the week marking appreciation for the National Civilian Service, Minister Orit Strock appointed Aadi Wells as director-general of the National Civilian Service, replacing Reuven Pinski, who has completed his term. Wells was chosen from about 130 candidates following a formal professional selection process, after the appointments committee recommended three finalists to Strock.
Wells, 42, holds a master’s degree in social work and is the mother of seven. She currently serves as senior division head for welfare at the Ministry of Aliyah and Absorption. In the past, she served as chief social worker at Amindav and as national director of the social service and special populations division at Amindav.
Strock said civilian national service is crucial to Israel’s national and social resilience, and said she was glad to choose “a professional and values-driven woman” to lead the authority forward. She thanked the outgoing chief, Reuven Pinski, and the members of the selection committee for their “professional and efficient” work.
Wells told the minister she was grateful for the trust placed in her and excited by the appointment. She said the civilian national service is “a cornerstone of social resilience,” described the role as “a supreme national mission,” and said she intends to advance processes, expand the service’s impact, and lead the system to new achievements.
