The Peace Council published a photo Thursday morning from the logistics center built for the multinational stabilization force, the ISF, at Kerem Shalom, and the image revealed an embarrassing sign error. The wording on one sign appears to have been produced by Google Translate and read, in effect, "Tolerance" logistics support area.
The mistake surfaced one day after Kan News reported on its morning program that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had joined U.S. President Donald Trump’s Peace Council without cabinet approval, although such approval is legally required. Legal advisers warned that the move created a gap between Israel’s international commitments and what it can actually implement, and they suggested ratifying the move retroactively, as long as there is valid approval.
Last month, Kan News reported that representatives of the Peace Council had submitted an official request to the IDF to enter the Gaza Strip, in what was expected to be their first visit there. A source in the Peace Council told Kan News that "Hamas has not understood that it must disarm," adding that "we regard the killing of senior members of the military wing of the terrorist organization as part of the process of disarming Hamas."
