Dacia has updated the third-generation Duster compact SUV with a new hybrid powertrain, making it the most powerful Duster offered so far. The model is currently sold only with front-wheel drive, but a four-wheel-drive version is planned for later.
The new hybrid Duster starts at 150,000 shekels and rises to 163,000 shekels, depending on trim. That is 6,000 to 7,000 shekels less than the earlier hybrid version at the start of the year.
The system is the same one already used in the larger Dacia Bigster. It combines a 1.8-liter gasoline engine, rated at about 107 hp, with an electric motor, for a combined 155 hp. Torque is listed at 17.5 kgm for the petrol engine at 3,000 rpm and 20.9 kgm for the electric motor. Power goes through a smart automatic gearbox with four ratios for the combustion engine and two for the electric motor, creating 15 combinations.
Dacia says the revised Duster reaches 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds and delivers a combined fuel economy of 21.3 km per liter. Compared with the previous hybrid, the new version is 15 hp stronger, produces 2.4 kgm more torque for the petrol engine, offers that torque 600 rpm earlier, accelerates 0.7 seconds quicker to 100 km/h, and improves fuel consumption by 1.3 km per liter. The article also notes minor equipment updates across the trim levels Adventure, Ultimate, and Discover.
