U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday at the G7 summit in France that the memorandum of understanding with Iran is not final and that Washington could restart bombing if he is dissatisfied with it. He stressed, "It is a memorandum of understanding. And if I do not like it, we will go back and shoot at them, drop bombs on their heads. If I do not like it, if they do not behave well, we will go back and drop bombs right in the middle of their heads, okay?"
Trump said the deal does not include an immediate easing of sanctions on Tehran, though he said he would speak later about that issue. He also said he had spoken with Syria's leader about the fight against Hezbollah, saying, "I spoke with a leader about the fight against Hezbollah."
A day earlier, during a meeting with Qatar's emir, Trump addressed the northern front and his ties with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He said Israel's attack on Beirut "did not please me," and added that Netanyahu must show greater responsibility regarding Lebanon because "without me there would be no Israel."
In the same remarks, Trump said, "If Israel cannot complete the mission against Hezbollah without killing others, then Syria should do it," and said the war in Lebanon is secondary while the nuclear agreement with Iran can remain in place.
