The Israeli Professional Football Leagues published the schedule for the 2026/27 Premier League season, and the first weeks already feature several marquee fixtures. The headline match of round one, on August 22, will be Hapoel Tel Aviv against Beitar Jerusalem. The cup holder, Maccabi Tel Aviv, will then face Maccabi Haifa, Hapoel Beersheba and Hapoel Tel Aviv in rounds 2 through 4.
The rest of the opening round pairs are Maccabi Petah Tikva against Ironi Kiryat Shmona, Ironi Tiberias against Hapoel Petah Tikva, Hapoel Jerusalem against Maccabi Tel Aviv, Maccabi Haifa against Hapoel Ramat Gan, Hapoel Beersheba against Hapoel Haifa, and Maccabi Netanya against Bnei Sakhnin.
The season will begin earlier with the Super Cup, in which Hapoel Beersheba will host Maccabi Tel Aviv at Turner Stadium on July 12. The Toto Cup first round in the Premier League is set for July 25, while the second division’s Toto Cup starts on July 30. The National League season will begin on August 18 and 19, before the Premier League kicks off on August 22.
The report also notes likely stadium shortages at the start of the season. Teddy Stadium will not be available to Beitar Jerusalem and Hapoel Jerusalem because of the Maccabiah Games. It is still unclear whether Ramat Gan Stadium will be ready to host Hapoel Ramat Gan, which has been promoted to the Premier League. A new stadium in Rehovot will be added to the pool of available venues, and Ironi Kiryat Shmona will again open the season at Miriam Stadium in Netanya, with no timetable yet for a return to its home ground.
