A 23-year-old from Daburiyah, Abdallah Youssef, was indicted in the Nof HaGalil Magistrate’s Court days ago on multiple traffic and obstruction charges after a series of incidents that began while he was barred from driving. Police also asked the court to confiscate the Mercedes he allegedly used.
According to the indictment filed by Chief Sgt. Lital Ben Harush of the Northern Nazareth prosecutions unit, Youssef was disqualified in May 2025 from holding a driver’s license for nine months by a traffic court. Despite that order, he was seen driving a Mercedes in Daburiyah in November 2025. Later that evening, near the Kfar Tavor junction, a police officer signaled him to stop for inspection.
Instead of stopping, Youssef allegedly sped away, made a U-turn in a roundabout, and dangerously overtook another vehicle, endangering its passengers. He then steered toward the officer, who jumped back to avoid being hit and fired one round at the Mercedes’ wheels. Youssef kept driving, fled, and was found shortly afterward parked near his home in Daburiyah, while he himself was gone.
The case did not end there. The indictment says that in March 2026 Youssef asked a cousin to go to police with the defendant’s father and lie for him. The cousin allegedly told investigators at Tavor station, “I was the one driving the car and fleeing from the police.” Investigators exposed the false statement, leading to an additional obstruction charge. Youssef now faces three counts of driving while disqualified, three counts of reckless driving, two counts of obstructing a police officer, and one count of obstructing justice.
