Iron Dome Missile Fired Erroneously by IDF in Gaza Border Area
Residents in the Gaza border region reported hearing an interceptor missile launch on Tuesday. Minutes later, it was clarified that the missile was fired in error by Israeli forces. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that an interceptor was launched toward a target that was subsequently identified as friendly fire from within the Gaza Strip.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, and an investigation is underway. According to IDF policy, no alerts were activated in the nearby communities. The incident is considered unusual for the area surrounding Gaza.
