Manor Solomon Thrives at West Ham With Increased Dribbling Success

Israeli winger Manor Solomon has found a new level of success at West Ham United, particularly in his dribbling ability, compared to his previous stints in Italy and Spain, and even his recent spell with Leeds United.

In West Ham's recent match against Derby County, Solomon, who retained his starting position, completed four out of four attempted dribbles. This performance contributes to his current Championship average of 2.8 successful dribbles per game with a 70% success rate (14 out of 20 attempts) across his first five games for the club. This marks a significant increase from his time at Leeds, where he averaged 1.8 dribbles per game in the Championship, and even lower numbers in Italy and Spain.

The tactical setup at West Ham, which features two strikers, appears to provide Solomon with more freedom on the wing, facilitating his increased dribbling attempts and success. While English media noted he could be "a little more versatile," they acknowledged he "did his job."

Despite a missed opportunity on a counter-attack earlier in the Derby match, Solomon was substituted in the 77th minute with West Ham leading 1-0. The team went on to win 2-0 after his departure, extending their strong recent form with three wins in their last four matches across all competitions.
