Settlers Brutally Attack Jerusalem Monitor; Truck Driver Intervenes
Shadi Qaraeen, a Jerusalem resident and monitor for the "Derech Egged" transportation company, was severely assaulted by a group of settlers approximately one week ago in the Givat Ze'ev area. The attack left Qaraeen with serious injuries to his hand and leg, as well as a critical eye injury requiring reconstructive surgery.
The situation could have been far worse had it not been for the courageous intervention of a truck driver from Kafr Qara, identified as Sa'ed, who happened to be present and rushed to Qaraeen's aid.
Qaraeen reported that this was not an isolated incident, stating that another Arab colleague was similarly assaulted on a bus the very next day. He expressed frustration over the lack of response to his case, noting that he possesses video evidence of the assault but has received no acknowledgment despite multiple attempts to submit it to various authorities.
Qaraeen's account highlights a pattern of alleged violence and a perceived lack of official engagement with such incidents.
