New Poll: 16% of Opposition Voters Hate Netanyahu More Than Love Israel

A new poll conducted by Direct Polls for i24NEWS reveals that a significant portion of the Israeli public, particularly opposition voters, express strong negative sentiment towards Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The survey found that 16% of opposition voters identify more with the statement "I hate Netanyahu more than I love the country." Conversely, 66% of all respondents stated they identify more with the phrase "I love the country."

The poll also explored perceptions of the Yesh Atid party, which has seen recent departures. When asked if these developments signal the party's end, 60% of respondents agreed, while only 23% disagreed.

Furthermore, the survey examined support for Gadi Eisenkot, a prominent figure in the opposition. A majority of opposition voters, 54%, believe that support for Eisenkot is primarily a protest vote against Netanyahu, rather than a vote for Eisenkot himself. Only 41% of opposition voters see it as support for Eisenkot.

The poll was conducted on September 3, 2026, surveying 519 adult respondents representing a sample of the general Israeli population. The margin of error is plus or minus 4.2% at a 95% confidence level.
